How to Update OCZ Revodrive Device Drivers Quickly & Easily

Step 1 — Download Your Driver

To get the OCZ Revodrive driver, click the green download button above. After you complete your download, move on to Step 2.

Step 2 — Install Your Driver

Once you have downloaded your new driver, you’ll need to install it. In Windows, use a built-in utility called Device Manager, which allows you to see all of the devices recognized by your system, and the drivers associated with them.

How to Open Device Manager

In Windows 10 & Windows 8.1, right-click the Start menu and select Device Manager

In Windows 8, swipe up from the bottom, or right-click anywhere on the desktop and choose «All Apps» -> swipe or scroll right and choose «Control Panel» (under Windows System section) -> Hardware and Sound -> Device Manager

In Windows 7, click Start -> Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Device Manager

In Windows Vista, click Start -> Control Panel -> System and Maintenance -> Device Manager

In Windows XP, click Start -> Control Panel -> Performance and Maintenance -> System -> Hardware tab -> Device Manager button

How to Install a driver from Device Manager

Locate the device and model that is having the issue and double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

Select the Driver tab.

Click the Update Driver button and follow the instructions.

In most cases, you will need to reboot your computer in order for the driver update to take effect.

Tech Tip: Driver downloads and updates come in a variety of file formats with different file extensions. For example, you may have downloaded an EXE, INF, ZIP, or SYS file. Each file type has a slighty different installation procedure to follow.

VCA 2.0 flash virtualization software allows certain direct memory access (DMA) and data management functions. Included in this feature-set are OCZ’s exclusive command queuing and queue balancing algorithms, which can be handled by the onboard processing core for higher performance and reduced burden on the host resources. VCA 2.0 is also the only virtualization layer in the industry with TRIM and SCSI unmap support to enhance sustained performance and provide greater endurance by significantly reducing the overhead associated with garbage collection. Furthermore, VCA also offers consolidated SMART support and provides system administrators with advanced features for monitoring, analyzing, and reporting device attributes.

Important SSD notes: Consumers may see a discrepancy between reported capacity and actual capacity; the storage industry standard is to display capacity in decimal. However, the operating system usually calculates capacity in binary format, causing traditional HDD and SSD to show a lower capacity in Windows. In the case of SSDs, some of the capacity is reserved for formatting and redundancy for wear leveling. Rated speeds may vary slightly depending on the benchmark used, drivers, windows version, bios version and file size. Rated performance is achieved by using the Asus P8P67 Pro motherboard, using ATTO, IOMeter, and PC Mark Vantage. Performance may decrease over time depending on usage patterns.

Для перепрошивки используется утилита OCZ Toolbox или загрузочный диск на базе Linux. Обратите внимание на ограничения при обновлении из Windows:

• Windows XP не поддерживается;
• Windows должна быть загружена с другого диска (не с обновляемого SSD);
• в BIOS требуется перевести SATA-контроллер в режим AHCI;
• рекомендуется переключиться на стандартный драйвер Microsoft AHCI;
• требуется подключение к интернету.

Можно избежать этих трудностей, воспользовавшись загрузочным диском/флешкой с прошивальщиком OCZ Linux-based Tool. Чтобы получить новый образ firmware загрузочному диску также необходимо иметь доступ к интернету. Диски RevoDrive загрузочным Linux не поддерживаются, их можно обновить только из Windows.
