В комментариях к советам сообщества Steam нашёл куда более лёгкий вариант:

«Пропишите в параметрах запуска -ne» Без ковычек.

Библиотека, игры,-клик правой кнопкой на названии игры,свойства, общие, установить параметры запуска. в графе пишим
-ne

Лично мне сразу помогло, потом просто настроил графику под весь экран.

Старое руководство более не актуально, в связи более простым способом решения.

Низкий FPS, Rome: Total War тормозит, фризит или лагает

Современные игры крайне ресурсозатратные, поэтому, даже если вы обладаете современным компьютером, всё-таки лучше отключить лишние/ненужные фоновые процессы (чтобы повысить мощность процессора) и воспользоваться нижеописанным методами, которые помогут избавиться от лагов и тормозов.

• Запустите диспетчер задач и в процессах найдите строку с названием игры (Rome: Total War). Кликайте ПКМ по ней и в меню выбирайте «Приоритеты» , после чего установите значение «Высокое» . Теперь остаётся лишь перезапустить игру.

Уберите всё лишнее из автозагрузки. Для этого все в том же диспетчере задач нужно перейти во вкладку «Автозагрузка» , где нужно отключить лишние процессы при запуске системы. Незнакомые приложения лучше не трогать, если не знаете, за что они отвечают, иначе рискуете испортить запуск системы.

А также рекомендуем в настройках, связанных с энергопотреблением, установить «Максимальную производительность» . То же касается и видеокарты: нужно установить максимальную производительность в настройках графического процессора (это можно сделать в «Управлении параметрами 3D» ), а в фильтрации текстур выбирайте параметр «Качество».

Если ваша видеокарта от Nvidia по возрасту не старше серии графических процессоров GTX 10, тогда частоту кадров вполне реально поднять за счёт ускорения работы с видеокартой. Для реализации задуманного опять-таки нужно открыть «Панель управления» Видеокарты, перейти в уже знакомую вкладку «Управление параметрами 3D» и выбрать в списке с программами игру, после чего отыскать «Вертикальный синхроимпульс» и кликнуть по нему, чтобы в меню выставить параметр «Быстро» .

Следует удалить временные папки, ненужные файлы и кэш. На просторах интернета можно найти кучу самых разных программ, которые помогают это сделать. Мы рекомендуем воспользоваться для этого программой BleachBit или CCleaner .

Проведите дефрагментацию или оптимизацию жёсткого диска. Для этого перейти в «Свойства жёсткого диска» вкладка «Сервис» «Дефрагментация» или «Оптимизация» . Кроме того, там же можно провести проверку/очистку диска, что в некоторых случаях помогает.

В конце концов, перейдите на простое оформление, чтобы компьютер не нагружался ресурсоёмкими эффектами. К примеру, можно смело отключать встроенные отладчики, индексирование поиска и многое другое.

Ниже приведено несколько простых способов решения проблемы, но нужно понимать, что вылеты могут быть связаны как с ошибками игры, так и с ошибками, связанными с чем-то определённым на компьютере. Поэтому некоторые случаи вылетов индивидуальны, а значит, если ни одно решение проблемы не помогло, следует написать об этом в комментариях и, возможно, мы поможем разобраться с проблемой.

• Первым делом попробуйте наиболее простой вариант – перезапустите Rome: Total War, но уже с правами администратора.

Обязательно следует проверить, не возникает ли конфликтов у Rome: Total War с другими приложениями на компьютере. Отсутствует DLL-файл или ошибка DLL

Для начала следует объяснить, как вообще возникают ошибки, связанные с DLL-файлами: во время запуска Rome: Total War обращается к определённым DLL-файлам, и если игре не удаётся их отыскать, тогда она моментально вылетает с ошибкой. Причём ошибки могут быть самыми разными, в зависимости от потерянного файла, но любая из них будет иметь приставку «DLL» .

Для решения проблемы необходимо отыскать и вернуть в папку пропавшую DLL-библиотеку. И проще всего это сделать, используя специально созданную для таких случаев программу DLL-fixer – она отсканирует вашу систему и поможет отыскать недостающую библиотеку. Конечно, так можно решить далеко не любую DLL-ошибку, поэтому ниже мы предлагаем ознакомиться с более конкретными случаями.

Ошибка d3dx9_43.dll, xinput1_2.dll, x3daudio1_7.dll, xrsound.dll и др.

Все ошибки, в названии которых можно увидеть «d3dx» , «xinput» , «dxgi» , «d3dcompiler» и «x3daudio» лечатся одним и тем же способом – воспользуйтесь веб-установщиком исполняемых библиотек DirectX .

Ошибка MSVCR120.dll, VCRUNTIME140.dll, runtime-x32.dll и др.

Ошибки с названием «MSVCR» или «RUNTIME» лечатся установкой библиотек Microsoft Visual C++ (узнать, какая именно библиотека нужна можно в системных требованиях).

Не вижу друзей / друзья в Rome: Total War не отображаются

Неприятное недоразумение, а в некоторых случаях даже баг или ошибка (в таких случаях ни один способ ниже не поможет, поскольку проблема связана с серверами). Любопытно, что с подобным сталкиваются многие игроки, причём неважно, в каком лаунчере приходится играть. Мы не просто так отметили, что это «недоразумение», поскольку, как правило, проблема решается простыми нижеописанными способами:

• Убедитесь в том, что вы вместе с друзьями собираетесь играть в одном игровом регионе, в лаунчере установлен одинаковый регион загрузки.

Если вышеописанный способ не помог, тогда самое время очистить кэш и запустить проверку целостности файлов.

Самый радикальный способ решения проблемы – необходимо полностью переустановить лаунчер. При этом в обязательном порядке удалите все файлы, связанные с лаунчером, чтобы ничего не осталось на компьютере.

Конкретно для «Стима» существует ещё один максимально простой способ решения проблемы: выбираете любой понравившийся раздел «Библиотека» или «Сообщество» , после чего переходите на открытой вкладке в «Steam» «Просмотр» «Друзья» «Игры» «Справка» . И далее в разделе с друзьями, в выпадающем меню поставьте галочку напротив пункта «В сети» (или переставьте статус, но вернитесь к тому, где вы в сети).

Многие проблемы в сетевых играх связаны как раз с тем, что порты закрыты. Нет ни одной живой души, друг не видит игру (или наоборот) и возникают проблемы с соединением? Самое время открыть порты в брандмауэре, но перед этим следует понимать как «это» работает. Дело в том, что программы и компьютерные игры, использующие интернет, для работы требуют не только беспроблемный доступ к сети, но и вдобавок открытые порты. Это особенно важно, если вы хотите поиграть в какую-нибудь сетевую игру.

Rome Total War Compatibility

I have been running Rome Total War on Windows 10 quite happily since August. It now won’t work. Basically, it requires Directx 9 which apparently is incompatible with Windows 10 (although it obviously wasn’t for the last couple of months!). Are Microsoft likely to address this issue or treat it/me with the usual contempt big business has for individuals? Any useful (simple!) suggestions/comments appreciated.

2. Are all the updates and latest drivers installed?
3. Do you get any error message/code?
4. Are you signed in as an administrator?

You may try to install the game in compatibility mode and check if it helps.

Follow these steps to install the game in compatibility mode and check if that helps.

a. Right-click on the game setup file and click on ‘properties’.

b. Click on the ‘compatibility’ tab and check the box ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’ and select Windows 7/8/8.1 operating system from the drop down menu.

c. Click on ‘Apply’ and click ‘OK’ and run the file to install it.

You may also contact the game manufacturer and check if there would any updates or patches that would make the game work on Windows 10.

I have tried everything I can with my limited expertise but , sadly, nothing works. It is clearly an issue that is affecting a great many people judging by comments on the Net. I am no longer able to play a great game and this leaves a bitter taste in the mouth. It is surely an issue that could/should be addressed by Microsoft. Clearly, the will is not there. If there was a competitive market, I would not be using Microsoft and deeply regret downloading Windows 10.

Your problem with this game is not a Windows 10 issue as such, or it would not have run from the start,

but if you have done the 1511 update, something may have been broken during the update procedure.

If you have installed anything else this may have created a conflict, and if you installed another game and it

did an automatic DirectX ‘update’/install, this may have corrupted an, or some, DX files.

This game has come up on the Win7 forums a number of times since it’s release.

I’ve not followed those threads so don’t really know what’s it’s issue are, but if you have not visited the

Rome Total War forums you may want to try there for fixes that address the games peculiarities.

This saves us guess work and keeps you from having to read suggestions for what you have tried

as well as saving us from making those suggestions again, but .

Nothing to do with DX9 not being compatible with Win10.

— It’s a common misconception that Win7/8/8.1 has only DX 11, and Win10 has only DX12, or that

DX9 no longer works with newer OS’s.

Win7/8/8.1/10 all have DX — 9,10, and 11. Win 10 adds DX12 into the mix

— Games select which DX9 file the require, not Windows, and there are no ‘special’ versions of

the different Direct X files. The vast majority of games still use DX9, even those that have options for

DX10 or 11 effects.

— The following is a list of the Direct X .dll’s you will have when the files are up to date.
Go to the Windows / System 32 folder, (and SysWOW64 if you have 64bit).
They are in alphabetical order and will start with d3dx9 — 24 > 43 . Then d3dx10 — 33 > 43

& finally d3dx11 — 42 > 43.
There should also be — d3d9, d3d10 and d3d11 these come before the D3Dcompilers — 33>43.
— Win10 currently has only two d3d 12 files. One in System 32,and SysWOW64 .

There are more DX files, but these are most of the graphics related Direct X .dll’s
If your Windows has all the files above it may be a file, or files are corrupt.

— If a DX file has been corrupted, or a file is ‘missing’ using the DirectX Redist (June 2010) installer

package should fix the issue as this will overwrite all the DX files.

(The download unpacks files to a location of your choice. You then open the folder and find the DXSETP.exe
and run that to reinstall DirectX.
— Once the reinstall is complete you can delete the folder the files were unpacked to.)

Fair enough, but the net is all about problems. The net tends to skew perceptions.

You won’t be reading many posts from people who are not having issues.

People waxing lyrical about what a wonderful time they are having is pretty uncommon.

This applies to every consumer item, not just games, software, or PC’s in general.

Unfortunately, I am still left with a tortuous cycle of DirectX 9 needs installing (it is installed) and DirectX is not compatible with my system. Clearly, it will cost far more to get an expert to deal with the issue than the game actually cost.

No doubt, at some point in the future someone at Windows will take the time to find out what has caused the problem and address it. Until then, Rome: Total War is in my metaphorical bin and I am not a happy camper.

I beg to differ that this problem is not a Windows 10 issue. I am also experiencing this problem. Prior to the upgrade to 1511 this game and one other ran beautifully. After the update they refuse to run. This suggests that the Windows 10 1511 update IS the problem! I make my living as an engineer, and one of our axioms is that if something is working fine before you make a change, and then doesn’t work after that change, then the change is the obvious cause of the problem. The likelihood that it is entirely a problem coincidental in time with the upgrade is so remote that it doesn’t deserve mentioning.

«Waxing lyrical,» so to speak, about the preponderance of skewed perceptions and how the web facilitates gripes may be true, but that doesn’t detract from the fact that there is something in the update that rendered these programs useless. Therefore, the problem is indeed a Windows 10 issue and like many others I believe it can and should be addressed. Disregarding your users concerns with virtual eye rolling in your posts is not solving the problem or endearing you to your users. I suggest you take these concerns seriously and do your best to address them with what information is provided because IT IS a Win 10 problem.

How am I sure of all this? My system has gone through 3 upgrades to Ver 1511. Each time I experience issues running several programs afterwards and to resolve the problem I take the last resort route and restore my hard drive to the original store bought version of Windows 10 Pro — 64 bit. Each time afterwards my system and all the programs run beautifully until 1511 installs, then all heck breaks loose. I kept thinking that there was something in the upgrade that got corrupted, but after the third time that 1511 installed and I experienced the same issues it was obvious to the most casual observer that the 1511 update WAS the problem. Rather than do yet another restore and then experience the same problem again in a couple weeks, I’m trying to resolve the problems this time. Like many others, I turn to this forum for help but am completely disappointed in the demonstrated lack of concern in your responses as well as refusing to acknowledge your wonderful upgrade has introduced a significant bug into your product.

Okay, I know I haven’t resolved the original issue, but if I do discover anything I will certainly respond to this post with the solution. I am finished «waxing lyrical» for now.
