I have been having trouble with this for about 3 months now on my windows 10 PC. It wont let me sign in into any microsoft account. Tried removing both microsoft accounts and re-adding them, it doesn’t work for me at least. If you could please put down suggestions on how to fix this problem, I will appreciate this very much!

Xbox Companion App Error Code 0x409 0xD000000D
I’m hoping someone can help me out with this error code that I’m getting when I try to open my Xbox Companion App. I spoke with Microsoft on the phone and they had not heard of the 2nd extension of the error code, 0xD000000D. They suggested running msconfig and changing the boot to normal startup, which didn’t work. I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app. They suggested I come here for help. I have attached a screenshot of this error. Can anyone suggest anything? Thanks for your help.

My computer is fully up to date. Also, installed the Identity Provider Application, but nothing changed when trying to login.

a) Press the ‘Windows + R’ key on the keyboard.
b) In the ‘Run’ window type ’MSCONFIG’ and click ‘Ok’ .
c) On the ‘General’ tab, click the ‘Normal Startup’ option, and then click ‘OK’ .
d) When you are prompted to restart the computer, click ‘Restart’ .

A “clean boot” starts Windows with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs, so that you can determine whether a background program is interfering with your game or program . I did the clean boot, but the Xbox app still doesn’t open. Any ideas where I go from here?

Thanks for the update on the issue with the Xbox app not launching. I recommend to try re-installing the Xbox app on the PC.
- 1. Click Start, and then type Windows PowerShell on the search box.
- 2. Right-click, and then select Run as administrator.
- 3. Type the following command to uninstall Xbox app: Get- AppxPackage * xboxapp * | Remove- AppxPackage
- 5. Launch Windows Store and download Xbox App.

This did not work either. I uninstalled the xbox app using the steps provided, and then reinstalled it, but the same error keeps coming up when I try to load the xbox party.

First, please uninstall the Xbox Identity Provider app. We will re-install it later after another set of commands.
Then, I suggest trying to re-install all of the Windows apps through PowerShell. Perform the steps mentioned below and see if it helps:
a: Press Windows key and search for PowerShell.
b: Then right click PowerShell and Run as admin.
c: Now type the following command and hit enter
Get-AppxPackage *windowsstore* | Remove-AppxPackage
Get-AppxPackage *xboxapp* | Remove-AppxPackage
Then, re-install the Xbox Identity Provider app.
After a restart, enter the following command (again in a PowerShell as admin):
Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers| Foreach
This will install any missing built-in apps you may have uninstalled.

It looks like the components of you r app ha ve something to do with the error message that you are getting. Her e are two steps on how to isolate system issues :
Method 1: Perform a clean boot, this helps eliminate software conflicts that occur when you install a program or an update or when you run a program in Windows 10. Here is the link on how to perform a clean boot.

1. Click Start , and then type Windows PowerShell on the search box.

Launch Windows Store and download Xbox App .

Thank you for following up. Here are more troubleshooting steps on how to resolve Xbox app error (0x409) 0x80080300:
Solution 1: Check for updates
Refer to the following links for the steps on how to check if there are updates available for the app and the Windows 10 PC:
Solution 2: Reset the app from the Settings menu
This can help resolve corrupted app data.
1. Click Start, then Settings.
2. Select System.
3. Choose Apps & features.
4. Find the app, then click Advanced options.
5. Click Reset.
6. Click Reset again to confirm.
