Windows is currently using

I currently using windows 7 professional and is it possible to run both windows 7 &10 operating system together

I’m using windows 7 professional and I would like to upgrade my windows 7 professional to windows 10 due to free upgrade offered by Microsoft . So I want to keep windows 7 professional running while upgrading to windows 10 meaning I want to used both operating system in my Pc at the same time . If I want to used windows 10 I use it and vice versa . And so, is it possible to do that?

You can shrink C in Disk Mgmt to boot the Windows 10 installation media to Clean Install Windows 10 to the shrink space, configuring a Dual Boot and which will activate Windows 10 permanently on the PC if this is done before July 29.

However under the EULA you should only be running one at a time so once you get WIndows 10 all set up and decide you want to keep it, check back here and I’ll show you how to remove 7 and recover its space into 10. Alternately you could use another Windows 7 Product Key to reactivate 7 and stay within the EULA, then keep both OS’s.

Be sure to stick closely to the steps in the link to get the best possible install since you only need to do it once, then save a backup image to use in place of reinstalls in 20 minutes. Windows 10 Image Backup and Restore

A good imaging app that will allow you to image both OS’s and then later apply only one or the other (or both) wherever you want on the hard drive — something Windows built-in imaging can’t do — is Macrium Reflect is a Free and Easy To Use Backup Utility

Original title:Problem Ejecting USB Mass Storage Device

When I try to safely eject my external hard drive safely I get an error message with this title telling me that «This device is currently in use. Close any programs or windows that might be using the device, and then try again.» I have done this. I have also tried closing every program running on the computer and it does not help. OpenVPN Error: All TAP-Windows adapters on this system are currently in use

Ошибка “All TAP-Windows adapters on this system are currently in use” означает что в системе проблемы с виртуальным Tun/Tap сетевым адаптером, который использует OpenVPN в Windows.

C:\Program Files\TAP-Windows

TAP-Windows Adapter.

WARNING: normally if you use –mssfix and/or –fragment, you should also set –tun-mtu 1500 (currently it is 1400)

Understanding “Your Location Is Currently in Use” in Windows 10

When using Windows 10, you may encounter the “Your Location Is Currently in Use” message. In this article we’ll explain what this message means and what you can do about it.

What does “Your Location Is Currently in Use” mean?

In short, this message means that a Windows 10 application (downloaded from the Windows Store) is tracking your location, typically through an on-device GPS sensor, though Wi-Fi networks and ethernet connections can also be used for these kinds of services. Basically, you see this message as a polite notification from Microsoft that your location is being tracked.

Certain applications may need location services to function properly (e.g. a GPS/navigation app), but if you feel like an application you’re using doesn’t need to know your location, there are a few ways you can change it.

How can I change it?

On Windows 10 press your Windows Key or open the Start Menu. Next, type “Location Privacy” and click “Location Privacy services” to pull up a Window that allows you to change your Location settings.

By simply clicking the slider beneath “Location service” you can disable Windows Store apps from being able to track your location. To disable it device-wide (for all user accounts on the device, not just yours), click the “Change” button if the text above it says “Location for this device is on.”

However, you may prefer to allow certain apps to access your location. Keep scrolling down to see a list of apps allowed to use your location services.

If you’re a fan of things you can do with Cortana, for instance, you may want to enable location services for that specific application so it can continue to function properly. Think carefully about your privacy and the apps you enjoy using before heading in and disabling features like this.

Some apps are still tracking my location

If you were paying attention earlier, you may have noticed that I only referred to “Windows Store apps” as opposed to “Windows 10 apps.” This is because only Windows Store applications are affected by the Location service in Windows 10.

Executables you get elsewhere, such as Google Chrome, can still get location data via WiFi networks, your ethernet connection and Google’s own location-approximation tech. Your IP address, seen by many sites and applications, can still tip others to your location unless you’re using a proxy or a VPN. Disabling the Windows 10 location function won’t do anything to help you there.

If you’re looking to protect your in-browser privacy, here’s one article for Chrome and another for FireFox..

Conclusion

In short, “Your Location Is Currently in Use” is a message that you’re receiving because an app you’ve acquired from the Windows Store is using Windows 10’s location service to determine your location. Disabling this service will prevent this behavior but won’t effect other applications (like most web browsers) which figure out your location through other means.
